Acceptable use

The short version

Use Counter Club to run a loyalty card for a real shop and to message the people who joined it. Do not use it to message anyone else, to mislead anyone, or to sell anything you may not lawfully sell.

You may

• Run one stamp card for your shop with a reward you will honour.
• Ask customers at your counter or through your link to join, and let them decide.
• Send campaigns about your shop, your stock, your hours and your events to members who have not opted out.
• Use the sending number provided for your campaign texts and for replies to them.

You may not

• Attempt to add, import or message anyone who did not join your club through the join page.
• Send a campaign that is misleading, that hides who it is from, or that omits a way out. Counter Club adds the opt-out link; you must not try to defeat it.
• Send content that is unlawful, that promotes alcohol in breach of your licence or state rules, or that is directed at children.
• Use the service for a business other than the one on the account, or share one account across unrelated shops.
• Interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses without telling us first, or use it to harm anyone.
• Represent that Counter Club or Not a Chain endorses your shop, or that a loyalty card affects a directory listing.

What happens if you do

We will tell you what we saw and ask you to stop. For a serious or repeated breach we may suspend or end the account. Members' opt-outs are always honoured, whatever the state of the account.
