How it works

From sign-up to the first full card

Counter Club is set up from a phone in the time it takes to drink a flat white. Here is the order it goes in, what each step asks of you, and what your customers see at each point. Nothing on this page needs a customer to install anything.

  1. Sign up with your shop's details

Business name, email, a password of ten characters or more, and your Australian mobile, which we confirm with a texted code. On the Free plan you tick the consent box; on a paid plan you go on to a secure card page. A welcome email carries a link to confirm your address.

  2. Set the card on the Loyalty card page

Choose the stamps that earn the reward, 2 to 50, and write the reward. Save. Your join link and its QR code appear underneath. Print the QR at any size and put it where people wait.

The default is 10 stamps. Read the guide on how many stamps a card should have before you settle on a number.

  3. A customer joins at the counter

They scan, type their mobile, get a six-digit code by text, enter it, add a first name and email if they like, and press Join. They appear at the top of your Members list within a second.

  4. Stamp each visit

Find the member on the Members page by first name or mobile and press Stamp. The count rises. Two staff on two devices can stamp at once; each press is one stamp, and the card never mints the same reward twice.

  5. Hand over the reward when the card fills

The stamp that reaches the target shows a reward code next to the button. Give them the reward. The card is already back at zero, with any extra stamp carried over.

  6. Send a campaign when there is news

On Regulars, write an email to the members who confirmed an address. On Local Favourite, your own texting number comes with the plan, so you can write a text. Every message carries that member's opt-out link. Press Send now and confirm.

The join page on a customer's phone, opened from the QR by the till: "Join Corner Loaf Bakery. Collect 10 stamps and get a free loaf." The customer has typed their mobile and the six-digit code that was texted to them, and is about to press Join. The card is their mobile number; there is no app.

After that

After that the card runs itself at the counter. The Overview page shows what to do next while you are setting up, then what has happened lately: who joined, what was sent, where your plan stands this month. Billing and Account sit beside it. If a member wants out, their link or a STOP reply does it in one step and you never have to touch anything.

One more thing worth saying plainly: Counter Club has nothing to do with your listing on Not a Chain. It does not sell a listing, change a ranking, add a badge or claim a profile. The directory ranks independent businesses by their public rating, adjusted for how many reviews stand behind it, with chains left out, and a loyalty card does not enter into that.

Put the QR by the till this week

Setting the card takes two minutes. The first fifty members are free, paid for by a marketing consent instead of a card, and the card runs in full from day one.
