A member wants to leave or be removed

The difference between opting out of messages and being removed entirely, and what to do in each case.

There are two different requests and they are handled differently.

Opting out of messages. The member presses the opt-out link in any campaign message, or on Local Favourite replies STOP to a text from your number. That is done instantly. Their row is marked as opted out of messages, every future send skips them, and their stamps and rewards are kept. You cannot undo it from the dashboard, and scanning the QR again does not undo it either, since the same mobile returns the same record; a member who wants messages back asks you, and you email us. If a member asks you to do it for them and has no message to hand, email hello@notachain.com.au with their first name or mobile as shown on your Members page and we will mark them opted out.

Being removed entirely. The member wants their number out of your club altogether. The Members page cannot delete, so email hello@notachain.com.au with the member as shown on the page and we remove the record. Tell the member you have done it.

Never try to work around either request. Do not keep a note of the number elsewhere and do not contact them by any other means. The number was given for the club and nothing else.

Did this answer it? If not, write to us and a person replies within one business day.
