For butchers
A card for the Thursday chop and the Christmas ham
A butcher's regular might spend fifty dollars a visit and come twice a month. The loyalty card has to respect that: fewer stamps, a reward worth having, and a way to tell the club when the hams are ready to order. Counter Club does the first two from the dashboard and the third from Campaigns.

What gets in the way for butchers
High spend, low frequency
Stamping per visit at twice a month means a ten-stamp card takes five months. Set the target at five or six and make the reward a real cut.
Hands are not clean for a stamp
A press on a till screen between customers is easier than finding a dry stamp pad. The customer's card is their mobile number, so nothing gets handled.
Christmas orders arrive late
Every year the ham orders come in the last week. A text to the club in late November, on Local Favourite, moves them earlier.
A worked example
Butcher work, with Counter Club
A fictional shop, Harlow and Sons Meats, sets its card at 6 stamps for a free kilo of sausages. One stamp per visit over thirty dollars, which is nearly every visit. The QR is laminated and stuck to the glass at eye height. In its first month 70 regulars join, mostly asked by name across the counter. By November the shop is on Local Favourite with its own texting number. In the last week of November one text goes to 310 members: "Christmas hams and turkeys open for orders now, pick-up in the three days before Christmas." Two replies say STOP; both are marked opted out at once and their stamps stay. Orders are spread across three weeks instead of three days.
Not a Chain
Butchers on Not a Chain
Not a Chain ranks butchers by their Google rating, adjusted for how many reviews stand behind it, with chains left out. Figures as of October 2026.
See the butchers on Not a Chain. Being listed there has nothing to do with using Counter Club: no listing is sold and no rank changes.
Questions from butchers
Can I stamp only above a spend?
Yes, by your own rule. The software does not see the sale; your staff decide what earns a press. Write the rule on the sign.
Is a free kilo too generous?
After six visits of fifty dollars, a kilo of sausages is a fair thank you and costs you less than it looks. Pick a reward you make yourself.
Can I text about specials every week?
You can, up to your monthly messages, but a butcher who texts weekly will watch the opt-outs climb. Once a month, with real news, keeps the club.

Setting the card takes two minutes. The first fifty members are free, paid for by a marketing consent instead of a card, and the card runs in full from day one.
