For florists
A card for the person who buys flowers every fortnight
Florists have two kinds of customer: the once-a-year occasion buyer and the regular who takes a bunch home every other Friday. The card is for the second kind. Counter Club sets a short card, rewards the sixth bunch, and lets you tell the club when the peonies arrive.
Marigold and Wren
One stamp per bunch. Five earn a free bunch up to $30.
3 of 5 Two bunches to go.
What gets in the way for florists
Occasion buyers never fill a card
Mother's Day and Valentine's bring people who come once. Do not build the card around them. Build it for the fortnightly regular and let the others join if they like.
Stock changes weekly
What is in the bucket on Monday is not there on Friday. A campaign to the club about this week's stems, on a paid plan, turns stock into visits.
The bench is wet
Paper cards next to buckets do not last. A mobile number does.
A worked example
Florist work, with Counter Club
A fictional florist, Marigold and Wren, sets the card at 5 stamps, one per bunch, and writes the reward as "a free bunch up to $30". The QR is on a small stand by the wrapping bench, where customers wait while a bunch is tied. The owner asks each regular to scan while wrapping. In spring, now on Regulars with 140 members, she emails the 50 who confirmed an address: "The first peonies are in. Club members get first pick on Friday morning, till noon." Two members fill their card that morning and walk out with a free bunch. Nothing changed on Not a Chain.
Not a Chain
Florists on Not a Chain
Not a Chain ranks florists by their Google rating, adjusted for how many reviews stand behind it, with chains left out. Figures as of October 2026.
See the florists on Not a Chain. Being listed there has nothing to do with using Counter Club: no listing is sold and no rank changes.
Questions from florists
Should the reward have a dollar cap?
Yes, write it into the reward text, for example "a free bunch up to $30". Members see it on the join page and nobody is surprised.
Can I stamp an online order?
If the customer is a member and gives you their number on pick-up, yes, press Stamp on their row. There is no automatic link to a website order.
Is five stamps too few?
For a fortnightly buyer, five is ten weeks. That is about right. Fewer and the reward loses meaning; more and they stop counting.
