For bottle shops
A card for the Friday six-pack and the Saturday bottle of red
An independent bottle shop lives on regulars who come weekly. The chains have apps and points; you have a face they know and, with Counter Club, a card on their mobile and a message when the new vintage lands. Keep the reward in your range and the texts occasional.

One stamp per visit over $25. Eight earn a bottle up to $25.
5 of 8 Three visits to go.
What gets in the way for bottle shops
The chains have apps
Points and apps are their game. A simple stamp card with a reward from your own shelf is yours, and it does not need an app.
Weekly visits want a shortish card
Eight stamps at one visit a week is two months. That is about the limit before people stop counting.
Responsible messaging
Texts about alcohol go to adults who joined your club and asked for them, with a way out in every one. Keep the tone about the product, not the drinking.
A worked example
Bottle shop work, with Counter Club
A fictional shop, Corner Cellar on Wexley, sets the card at 8 stamps for a bottle up to $25 from a chosen shelf. One stamp per visit over $25. The QR is on the counter and inside the cool-room door. In two months 190 regulars join. On Local Favourite, the owner texts once a month about a new arrival. In May: "The new vintage of the Heathcote shiraz landed today. 12 cases, club first till Sunday." Nineteen come in, four fill their card. Two opt out by the link; they stay on the members list with their stamps.
Questions from bottle shops
Is a loyalty card for alcohol allowed?
Your liquor licence conditions and state rules on promotions apply, and they are yours to check. The card itself is a stamp card; what you offer is your decision.
Can I stamp per bottle instead of per visit?
Yes, by your own rule. Per visit over a spend is simpler to say and harder to argue about.
Will my members get texts from other shops?
No. A member of your club is contacted by your shop only, from your own number. No other shop can see or message them.
