For car washes
A wash card that never fades on the dashboard
Car wash regulars run on habit and weather: the same Saturday morning every fortnight, unless it rained all week. A stamp card on their mobile keeps them driving to you instead of the wash nearer home, and a text after a wet spell tells the club the bays are open. Counter Club does both from the pay window.

What gets in the way for car washes
Paper cards live in the glovebox
Then they live in the next car, or the bin. A mobile number comes to the pay window with the driver every single time.
Weather decides the week
A wet week empties the bays and the first fine Saturday floods them. A text on the Thursday before, on Local Favourite, sends the club to you before they think of anywhere else.
Every wash looks alike from the road
Most drivers pick whichever wash is on the way. Being two stamps from a free wash is the reason to drive the extra five minutes to yours.
Three prices on the menu
An exterior, an inside and out, a full detail. Pick one rule, such as one stamp per wash over $25, so the window never turns into a debate about what counts.
A worked example
Car wash work, with Counter Club
Sudsbury Hand Car Wash is a fictional hand wash on a main road, with four bays and a pay window. An inside and out is $35, and a good regular comes every fortnight: twenty-six washes and $910 a year. The owner sets the card at 8 stamps, one per wash over $25, and writes the reward as "a free inside and out". A fortnightly regular fills the card in sixteen weeks, so the shop gives away about three washes a year to a driver worth $910.
The QR is on the sign at the pay window and on a card tucked under the wiper of every finished car, so drivers can join while they wait or once they are home. In two months 260 drivers join on Regulars. By spring the club has 410 members and the owner moves to Local Favourite to text them.
After a wet fortnight, on Thursday afternoon, she sends: "Fine weekend ahead. All four bays open 8 to 5 on Saturday and Sunday, inside and out $35." The weekend is the busiest in two months, and 23 reward codes are handed over at the window. The text used 410 of the month's 2,000 campaign messages.
Not a Chain
Car washes on Not a Chain
Not a Chain ranks car washes by their Google rating, adjusted for how many reviews stand behind it, with chains left out. Figures as of October 2026.
See the car washes on Not a Chain. Being listed there has nothing to do with using Counter Club: no listing is sold and no rank changes.
Questions from car washes
Can a driver with two cars collect on one card?
Yes. The card belongs to the mobile number that joined, not to the car, so a tradie with two utes collects a stamp for each wash if your rule is per wash. A fleet billed monthly is a different arrangement, and the card is not built for that.
How often should a car wash text the club?
When the weather gives a reason: after a wet week, before a long weekend, when the pollen settles on everything in spring. Two or three texts in a wet month and fewer in a dry one. Never send one while it is raining.
Should the reward be the cheapest wash or the regular's usual?
The regular's usual. A free exterior-only for someone who always pays for inside and out feels like a downgrade. Write the reward as the wash they come for, with a price cap if your menu runs high.
